The Barack Obama vice presidential sweepstakes reared its head in Boston this week when U.S. Sen. Joe Biden blew through town.
Biden (D-Delaware) was in the Hub for an event with Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) and also threw himself a fund-raiser at Citizens Bank downtown.
Biden reportedly spoke openly about being on Obama’s short list for VP and also about the possibility of landing a Cabinet post, such as secretary of state, should Obama win.
Among those at the event were PR guru Larry Rasky, who used to work for Biden, state Reps. John Rogers (D-Norwood) and Paul Kujawski (D-Webster) and Boston City Councilors John Tobin and Bill Linehan.
According to those who were there, Biden insisted he’s running for re-election in November but would consider either position a fitting capstone to his storied political career.
Unlike every other pol on the list, who pretends they’re “not interested.”
