I've decided to ignore the bashers for the most part
I think it just detracts us, unless they are bringing up a valid issue. People who make blanket statements like, "I'll never forgive Biden for the bankruptcy bill" are not looking for a discussion or debate. They're just antagonists who do not have any value in a legitimate debate.

Sometimes I get discouraged when I read the negatives, but then realized that there are negative snippers out there blasting the other candidates as well. So I'm going to ignore them unless they appear to be genuinely interested in a constructive debate. Meanwhile, we serve Biden better by focusing on the positives.

1. You are doing it again, girl!
I was thinking the same thing last nite.
As long as things are going good, we don't need to fight every battle.

They are like little pests, just ignore them. If they don't like Biden, that's their perogative.

But if I think they are misinformed - and open-minded, I would rather educate them than argue with them. I have been successful shutting a few people up by doing that.

"Meanwhile, we serve Biden better by focusing on the positives" Pat - :yourock:

2.  On the other hand, I am having a hard time today keeping my mouth shut about another candidate

3. I'm really, really laughing out loud here!
The thought was preying on me last night. I realized that sometimes we get too emotional and defensive. I see that in supporters of other candidates and it is very unattractive. Certainly doesn't reflect well on their candidates.

I just restrained myself from responding to a couple of people who jumped on Biden (that's okay they pushed the thread up!) - it was the same old stuff, so pointless and answering them.

Like you said if they indicate an openness, then it is worth acting on.

4. I agree.
If you respond ,then they just rev up their ranting and raving even more. If we ignore them, they usually fade away.It is impossible to have a sensible conversation with them anyway.

7. Everyone should have learned that in the school yard!
But it is human nature to react. There was one guy here who really jumped on me a couple of times. I responded calmly and rationally, even said something like "have a nice day" and he shut up!

5. That's bullshit about the Bankruptcy Bill
First, there was alot of last minute shit thrown in by the republicans

Second - the #1 employer here in Delaware are banks. You can't walk 5 feet without running into someone who works for one of the major banks or is related to someone. Hell I work for one of the big ones and I have no regrets whatsoever.

Everytime ANWR came up for vote Mary Landrieu of Louisanna always supported drilling in there because she's in a state predominantly run by the oil industry. You'll see the same kind of trend with Blanche Lincoln and anything affecting Wal-mart.

I think there are a ton of flaws with the bankrupcy bill but I also believe those people who abuse credit should be held accountable too. Hopefully when we get a dem in the white house we can fix that issue

6. I think people are wrong to make this a one issue race
unless of course the issue is Iraq. Anyone who thinks like that is not serious about politics. Some of them I think just like being pissed off.

You're right - Senators represent their own states. The new Montana senator is pro-gun rights. That is understandable and can't be compared to New York where guns are a serious problem.
