I still haven't decided on who to support but being here in Delaware I can't help but want to support the hometown guy. I've been watching the Hardball clip and it's really pushing me into Biden's court.
I'll say this much - if he doesn't get the nomination he should truly be considered for Secretary of State. And hopefully we here in Delaware will keep a dem in the governor house in 2004 so he can be replaced with another dem should he move on.
BTW - you have heard about his son Beau, he's leaving for Iraq in 2008.

I'm still holding out for Biden to go all the way. He has already said he would not be SOS for Obama or Hillary. That could change, I guess, if that time ever comes.
I have watched that Hardball clip about 5x! It was such an insight into Biden's soul. And I am sure that Beau is heavily on his mind as they debate what to do next in Iraq.

2. This is the first time a candidate has an HQ right here in Delaware |
|
so it's tough to not want to support him.
First I need to deal with my new house (I settle on Friday) and then I'll probably start getting involved.
Ultimately I'll vote for whomever the democratic nominee is, but I can't pass up this great opportunity. I remember how hard we tried to get Howard Dean to come to Delaware but our state gets overlooked because we're so small (Joe Lieberman did come - ugh!).
Thanks for the welcome

3. Didn't Pete DuPont have his HQ here in Delaware when he ran? |
|
Of course, he was Repub, so maybe it doesn't count. BTW, did you see his ad from his run in 1988 at http://blog.washingtonpost.com/punchlinepolitics/It could have been * snorting that powder in the commercial.

I asked this a long time ago on another thread. Is that a bunny hopping about? And what is on its head?

5. Do you think other Delawareans(?!) share the same sense of excitement you do? |
|
I come from Washington State and they have a highly regarded Senator -- Jim McDermott. I think that if he were in the running, the Washingtonians would become very involved in supporting him, because they know and trust him. I'm guessing that's the same feeling in Delaware about Biden? I'm HOPING that's the same feeling in Delaware!
I know you can't get your house wrapped up fast enough! Hang in there!

19. Err....Umm....Ahem...we're not officially Biden supporters |
|
We are truly undecided
(however our 18-year-old son is over at Biden HQ volunteering right now).
The Biden campaign has worked harder than any of the others to gain our support - but we have not signed on with anyone as of yet.
:yoiks: Am I still allowed to visit this group?

20. I am impressed that your son |
|
is getting involved in politics so young!
Of course, you're welcome here. Undecided can be a good thing. It shows that you aren't jumping in impulsively.
I've been a fan of Biden's for years now, so I am comfortable with my choice. I respect anyone who is keeping their options open and not easily swayed by the media and soundbites.
Please come often. We appreciate your input.

21. He has been walking in campaigns/stuffing envelopes/feeding campaign staff |
|
since he was a youngster. He actually just voted in his first election (school board/levy vote) on Tuesday!
We told him to select the candidate that appealed the most to him - for whatever reason that was important to him. I think the Biden family dynamic and inclusion of staff in their activities won him over (some campaigns treat staff like servants and keep the candidate away from them - not allowing staff/volunteers any contact or personal time. The Bidens and their staff have shared meals with him, called him, written him personal notes as well as the important part of asking him his opinion and ideas - pretty heavy stuff for an 18-year-old freshman in college!)
This is a kid who has had the honor of hanging out with Bill Clinton & Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Bill Bradley, John Kerry, Howard Dean, Dennis Kucinich, Christopher Dodd, Bill Richardson, Stenny Hoyer and scads of others. (Not to mention our favorites here in Iowa Tom Harkin, Bruce Braley, Chet Culver, David Loebsack and Leonard Boswell).
He's going places!!
 Oh My, was I bragging about my child????

He is very impressive!!!
The things you say about the Biden campaign reflect what I've read about his earlier campaigns. Very one-on-one and personal. Money can't buy that (well somewhat).
