Chris Dodd is going to do something I wanted Biden to do. |
|
I even emailed the campaign about doing this. (I am probably their #1 pest)
He is going to propose legislation next week that seperates the funding for the troops from the funding for the war.
I am so glad he is going to do that. It is the right thing to do. And I hope Biden goes along with it, because Biden always says he votes yes on the funding bills for the troops. Clinton and Obama should go along with it as well. As should all the Dems. This is not about politics. This is about the right thing to do.
I just wish Biden would have thought of it first. I tried.

1. Biden said EXACTLY that -- he just didn't instigate any legislation, damn it. |
|
And he didn't heed your input, his trusted advisor! :)
I'm so glad somebody is doing it (and you're right, should have been Joe). Points to Dodd on this one.

I have never heard him say it should be seperate.
Oh well - I do like Dodd, and I really appreciate this.

4. I think it may have been during his MTP appearance -- |
|
He said, in response to probably the question of why he's willing to keep funding that he would vote to fund the TROOPS, not the WAR. That as long as there was one soldier or civilian left, he would support them.
I know that I used this as ammo responding to DU posts when there was mention that he wanted to keep funding the war.
He never mentioned a plan, but he did differentiate between the two.

Maybe my morning coffee did not kick in yet, but I do not understand what seoarating the two actually implies. I guess I can find the details on Dodd's site, but I am short on time right now. In any case, Dodd seems to really want to fight this, which is a good thing.

You've got me laughing at myself because I just ran with the message, never even thought about what the differences might be. I'm ashamed as I always point a furious shaking finger at the Repugs for doing exactly that -- buying into the sound bites.
Well, hopefully Dodd can answer your -- and now my -- questions!
