31 August: Biden In Iowa
Seems like a long day in Iowa for Joe today. Things look like they are starting to get quite hectic. I was VERY pleased with the response to the fundraising push for the ads in Iowa ($227,331 as of 9pm 08/30/07). It just goes to show that there IS a well of support, and an even deeper well of POTENTIAL support for Biden out there.

It just needs a catalyst. Mike Huckabee put it quite well. He said that people wouldn't declare their support for him (even though many liked him) because they simply thought he could not win. After coming 2nd in the Ames Straw Poll, people realized that he had a shot, and he has seen a very impressive bump in the latest polls since.

What could be Joe Biden's catalyst, I wonder?

1. I wish I knew.
Hopefully, the add campaign will get to $250,000 or more and they can run the ads after Joe goes back to work in the Senate. That will give him a bit more exposure maybe.

2. "What could be Joe Biden's catalyst, I wonder?"
I've wondered the same thing. There could be a particular endorsement that gets a lot of media attention or some unexpected event. Meanwhile, I think the steady increase in support will snowball until people start to take notice. As people start to tire of the top tier candidates, Joe will be moving up steadily from behind. "Oh, and then there is JOE! Hmmmm."

3. A big endorsement would help
whether it's from a group or a public official.

In the meantime, it helps to read other threads besides the ones about Biden.
There may be opportunities for us to educate others. People have their minds made
up about Joe without realizing how knowledgeable he is. Last nite I had a victory with
a Biden basher - he was shocked and impressed with Biden's comments about Iran.

Other than that, and contributing what we can - I don't know what else we can do to help him.

4. We'll think of more things
as time goes by. We can only do so much each day, but the possibilities are endless.
