1. you know what?
Who has any better proven track record than Joe? I think I need to take some time away from this, I think my husband may be right. He is constantly telling me as I yell at the TV, "Babe, I don't think you are going to make it through the next couple of months."

2. I felt the same way when I read this.
They were tied. It was Harold Sch---- (however you spell it) that made
the final decision. I saw Biden's speech to the firefighters and I was very touched.
Personally, I don't get it.

Dodd is a great guy, he deserves the endorsement as well. But like I said - Biden is my guy.
And - If it wasn't Biden that got the endorsement, I would rather have it go to Dodd than Hilbama.

I've been that mad before, where I had to walk away. Take a break - it's early yet, and think about what David Brooks said last weekend on the Matthews show. Everywhere he went in Iowa he ran into Biden supporters.:grouphug:

3. I was really surprised by the endorsement
but it would have been worse if they'd endorsed a frontrunner.

Iowans take politics very seriously and they aren't won over easily. I'm not surprised the David Brooks found Biden supporters everywhere he went. He is their kind of guy.

4. I was just thinking about this and decided this is really a good thing
even tho they didn't choose Biden.

But - they didn't choose the frontrunners either.

Maybe they set a precedent.
By endorsing Dodd they made a statement that they are not buying it that the race is over.
And just maybe, all those articles we've been reading about people liking Biden but will not publicly
endorse him because they don't think he has a chance - will now change. It may give certain people/
organizations something to think about.

The IAFF may have done Biden a favor by endorsing the candidate that is lowest in the polls.
(Not counting Gravel) Dodd's #s are lower than Biden's.

Keep your chins up everyone. This race is nowhere over.

5. Now that is a very good point
"By endorsing Dodd they made a statement that they are not buying it that the race is over."

The IAFF tends to make the news when they speak out. Hopefully there will be more such jolts to wake the media wake up.

6. oh man - I was just over at Biden's site reading his stand on issues
to answer that "why Biden" post.

Look at what I saw over there:

Look at all he has done.

7. I don't live in a union state, but what I've observed from afar,
is that the rank and file often goes their own way. So I would think that Biden will ultimately have quite a bit of "un-organized" support.
