3. He would have been in some very good company, for sure!
Glad to see Father Roy was able to make it. I had seen the government has been harrassing him lately, and was afraid that would have prevented his attendance.

He's the tireless worker for peace. Now he is getting far, far more support from the country. Looks like it's growing.

4. I just got on line. I played the wind in the puppetista
drama, and participated in the out-of-the-gates march. I will write something up soon.

2. It's getting larger, and larger. This is a powerful statement to the School of Assassins.
From struggle4progress's photos:

The man in the bottom row of the photographs was killed three years ago
in the San José de Apartadó Peace Community in Colombia, by a joint para
and military massacre. He had been working for years for the cause of peace.

Three of their murdered victims were children. A witness said that they cut
their throats when they found them hiding in a house. Someone implored the
commanding officer to not harm them, and was told they are going to grow up
to become FARCS if they allowed them to live.

The witness had begged the man to see that they were very nice children, but it
didn't seem to matter to him whatsoever. I believe was one little girl, 2 boys.
They were very young, but old enough to grasp what was happening, as of school age.

Colombia: army colonel admits participation in Peace Community massacre
Submitted by Bill Weinberg on Sat, 08/02/2008 - 20:15.

Retired Colombian army colonel Guillermo Armando Gordillo confessed to the Fiscalía (attorney general) his participation in the slaying of eight people, including three children, at the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó on Feb. 21, 2005. The Fiscalía said Col. Gordillo was in command of the Bolívar Company, Vélez Battalion, 17th Brigade, which was carrying out a counterinsurgency operation code-named "Fénix" in the area. The massacre was carried out by a "joint command" of Col. Gordillo's troops and paramilitaries, the Fiscalía found. (Radio Caracol, Aug. 2; El Tiempo, Bogotá, Aug. 1)
