RIGHTS-PERU: Leftist Leaders Targeted by Anti-Terror Police (IPS)
By Ángel Páez

LIMA, Nov 28 (IPS) - ... Sources with the DIRCOTE anti-terrorism police force told IPS that the content of emails found on the laptop of Reyes -- who was killed in a Colombian bombing raid of a FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) camp just inside the Ecuadorean border in March -- "completed" an ongoing investigation into ties between Peruvian citizens and the FARC ...

But two of the people targeted by DIRCOTE -- the secretary general of the Communist Party of Peru-Red Fatherland (PCP-PR), Alberto Moreno, and the leader of the Peruvian Communist Party-Unity (PCP-U), Renán Raffo -- say the request for arrest warrants is part of a government plan to jail opponents.

The PCP-PR and PCP-U are legal political parties that have even held seats in both houses of Congress at one time or another, and which are registered with the national election authorities ...ies of terrorist organisations," he added.

"It is irresponsible of the government to cite Colombian police sources as the only evidence," <raffo> said. "We have asked to be given access to the documents on which the accusation is based, and the authorities have refused. They won’t even allow us to defend ourselves" ...

1. Let's hope that Peru's democracy remains strong enough to oust these fuckwads
who made the lying, deceitful "free trade" deal with the Bushwhacks (and collusive Democrats). They have a 20% approval rating. If it were a parliamentary system, they would be gone. Peru needs to join the leftist revolution that has swept the continent. Alan Garcia and cohorts are instead turning Peru in the direction of Colombia, the dinosaur of the continent, where over forty union leaders have been murdererd, with impunity, this year alone. But Peru is not as far gone as Colombia, and let us hope that the next election will see a big change for the better.

The "miracle laptop" (later laptopS) from that U.S.-orchestrated bombing/raid on Ecuador is certainly the "gift" that keeps giving. Those laptops can be--and have been--made to say anything. Do the Bushwhacks want control of Venezuela's and Ecuador's oil? Why, their democratically elected presidents are "terrorists," don't you know? Is Alan Garcia threatened by a strong leftist movement in Peru? Ah, his opposition are "terrorists," too. No one but the Colombian security forces, and likely Donald Rumsfeld's "Office of Special Plans In Exile," has seen those computer files. And the only thing you can count on, from the Colombian security forces, or Rumsfeld, are goddamned lies.

2. Tragic, heavy handed trick they've invented to be able to implicate every leftist organization
in South America, probably Central America next, as FARC-involved, FARC-financing, FARC-supporting friends of Hugo Chavez, all destined for one continent-sweeping purge, if they can only get the manpower to do it!

Filthy idiots. This is the most preposterous, clumsy operation I've EVER heard. It had to be crafted by our own Rumfeld-soaked Defense Department at a time the Bush administration saw the world as its oyster, with absolutely nothing big or powerful enough to constitute oversight. No masters to please, no one to mete out punishment, and the whole world as their playground.

We all knew the laptop(s) was bogus the moment we heard about it, and the miraculous preservation from a site which was heavily bombed beyond recognition with US assistance inside its host country.

So after Garcia is sinking below the horizon in his popularity, after he has sent his forces to inflict another massacre on the people, after the country has been in upheaval again and again, under his foolish gaze, suddenly we hear or smell emanations from the computer(s) again.

Too bad they didn't take more time, and arrange to have some sound equipment created to speak from a Colombian pre-historic statue, which could simply tell them about what the leftists were up to! Think of the amazing influence THAT would have!

"Better look into Alan Garcia's political opponent, Ollanta Humala.
Looks like he has been working with that Venezuelan politician who has
ties to FARC! Better not let him get away. Get him in jail before the
next election, so says the giant head. Make it so."

4. Q&A: "I Can't Be a Lifelong Suspect"
Ángel Páez interviews imprisoned Bolivarian Committee leader ROQUE GONZÁLES LA ROSA

... Galindo's accusation was based on reports of the content of laptops that belonged to Raúl Reyes, FARC’s international spokesman and one of the seven members of the rebel group’s Secretariat, who was killed on Mar. 1 in a Colombian bombing raid on a FARC camp across the border in Ecuador.

According to these reports, "a Peruvian" was said to have received 100,000 dollars from the FARC. Galindo requested further information through the Defence Ministry, but instead of names he was given pseudonyms ...

IPS: What evidence has been presented against you?

ROQUE GONZÁLES LA ROSA: That I went to the CCB meeting in Quito. But I wasn't the only one, there were hundreds of delegates. That I saw a video of Raúl Reyes, but neither I nor any of those on trial in this case ever saw it. It has also been mentioned that I was a member of the MRTA, but that was 12 years ago ...
