After listening to al Jazeera's report tonight, I think we've lost Honduras.
The Obama administration will not help Zelaya and maybe Hillary's interview with Globofascistas should have been the signal.

That the repression of the people will cause great harm is doubtless. But that this repression will also spur a democratizing wave is also doubtless.

The United States had a chance to be a good actor. It's a shame that the opportunity was wasted.

1. They probably are thinking they can use the advantage of having Venezuela's media
fully behind them, as another voice, a weapon they can use against any government in Latin America, just as with George Bush. Because of their usefulness as a powerful voice, they are probably able to write their own ticket with US Presidents who need an ally.

God this is so damned ugly.

Those two are absolutely conniving, dirty, amoral a-holes. What a shame something so important as our foreign policy leader should even shake hands with these lowlife grifters.

2. The neoliberals and reactionaries in the Obama Administration may try to push back on progressive
governments in Latin America. If they do this, they will find themselves being opposed by a lot of people that helped put them into office.

3. And they will lose the goodwill that anticipated their election in the region.
A shame.

4. Hil: "TAKE THAT VENEZUELA"
This is the Dem party at work garnering support from the RW exiles of the AxisofGood nations in Florida. Flogging the Cuba/Castro issue is becoming a more narrowed base as the old Batistano gen is disappearing, so that's where demonizing Chavez, Morales, etc, and now Zelaya comes in.

Mark my words, UofM's Casa Bacardi Cuba Transition Project (the public face of the S Fl LatAm ops CIA station) will diversify to some kind of Casa LatAm/Caribbean to embrace more RW Hispanic support. That's where the money will be.

5. Grim prospects, They can't let go of all that hatred. How sad they'll refocus it.
Their determination to cling to their opportunism at the expense of the majority isn't going to fade away with time, apparently. They just don't realize it yet but fate WILL pry their cold dead fingers away from the reigns of power.

6. It's about money, not political ideology.
You know how the money loop works.
