Patricia Rodas: We Insist on Zelaya’s Reinstatement

HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 10 (acn) “We insist on the reinstatement of
constitutional President Manuel Zelaya and the departure of the coup
regime,” said Honduras’ constitutional Foreign Minister Patricia Rodas
in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Rodas made the statements Thursday in the residence of Oscar Arias,
Costa Rica’s Head of State, who is mediating between the constitutional
government and the coup regime, reported the Bolivarian News Agency
(ABN).
The minister emphasized that the commission named by president
Zelaya is not willing to negotiate and that it only wishes to find an
operative way to restore the constitutional order and the reinstatement
of Zelaya and to guarantee the unconditional respect of the democratic
state in Honduras as a guarantor of democracy.
Rodas also recalled that the deposed President has repeatedly
announced his decision to take on the mandate for which he was elected
in the polls and to fulfil his term in office as established by the
constitution.
