Alvaro Uribe has lost it. I'm watching a clip of him on "Latin Pulse"
and he says: "We're not going to allow the intellectual bloc of the FARC to disorient us with a discourse of peace, which in the end strengthens terrorism. We have to wage this battle through out the country but FARC's intellectual bloc is very clever".

So basically, journalists, human rights workers and labor organizers are all FARC according to him. He's using the FARC to suppress his people just as he tried to use it to tar Chavez.

He seems to get more paranoid all the time. I guess if I had his crimes on my conscience, I'd be fearful too.

1. No kidding. He's got the blood of so many good dead people on his hands.
His angle for staying in office will be pretending his nation is in such peril because of the rebel groups that only he, Alvaro Uribe, can save Colombia. His supporters started off on that line earlier when they were scheming to keep him in office. They said, back then, it was absolutely necessary for the future of the country. THEN, their own success, what with running out of FARCs to kill, since they ALREADY killed so many of them they started just killing ANYONE they could find and pretending they'd killed another FARC, their own success is making Uribe obsolete!

They are going to have to come up with something BIG, like the Reichstag fire, or 9/ll to make it appear the FARC is a terrifying threat all over again, and they need Mighty Mouse to save them once more.

Here he comes to save the day...

2. It gets even worse. The segment went on to show police with machetes
Edited on Fri Jul-10-09 03:48 PM by EFerrari
attacking indigenous people. It's on tape taken by by the resistance. Police saying, "this country will progress when you all die" and using all kinds of weapons. Pictures of people with slash wounds, really bad ones. A policeman yelling out, "Go see who we left down by the creek. See how well it worked out for him."

And that cuts to a clip of Uribe denying that these bastards carry anything besides their batons.

3. Oh, god. They want them off their own land. They want to take it, sell it to corporations.
That's another part of this filthy little grub's proud history as a Colombian President. He steals from the powerless.

The only way they can get them to leave their ancestral land is to violently drive them away or simply kill them. As evil as this is, it's good somone actually got proof of them doing it on tape.

How CAN they face themselves in the mirror each day, knowing what they have done? Easy work for some people, apparently.

This is so unbearably sad.
