Note of the Embassy of Cuba in Tegucigalpa

R/S: 288-2009

A CubaNews translation. Edited by Walter Lippmann.

MEMORANDUM

The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba has taken note of the return, by the Secretary of External Relationships of the Republic of Honduras on July 7, 2009, of 83 passports belonging to Cuban education consultants without carrying out the requested extensions of stay. The Cuban education consultants who were working with the National Program of Literacy for young and adults "JosA. Domguez" with the Cuban method "Yes I Can" requested an extension so that they could continue their term of stay in the Republic of Honduras.

Last Wednesday July 1, Mr. Enrique Ortez Colindres declared that the Cuban education collaborators were taking part in the indoctrination and organization of shock groups, mentioning as source of this serious assertion the Honduran Armed forces. The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba rejects categorically this assertion as slander, whose only objective seems to be to encourage hostile and violent actions against the Cuban collaborators, who carry out a work of solidarity, implementing a literacy program that has benefited more than 150 thousand Hondurans.

The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba announces that, taking this situation into account, the Government of the Republic of Cuba has decided to withdraw all non-medical collaboration personnel that are lending their services to this country, which amounts to 143 people.

The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba announces that it will maintain the medical and paramedic personnel in the Republic of Honduras, taking into consideration that their mission, dedicated to protect the health and to save human lives under any circumstances, is strictly humanitarian. These personnel will remain in the country, unless there exists an expressed desire that it be withdrawn.

The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba announces that, of the 143 Cuban collaborators, 83 will return through the San Pedro Sula Airport in a Cubana de Aviacion airplane, and 60 will return by road traveling from the city of Danltowards the border point of Las Manos in Nicaragua.

1. Literacy teachers were murdered in Cuba immediately after the revolution by the same bastards
who moved to Miami. They stalked them as they went from house to house, with their lanterns so they could teach the people after work, and they killed them.

Now they claim Miami used to be a "sleepy fishing village" before they graced them with their onslaught immediately after the revolution, and that they, the right-wing Cubans have transformed Miami into a "world class city!" Well, good work, a-holes! Love what you've done with the government, too! Your elections are well known, gusanos, nationally for their unique smell, for decades.
