Urgent-- The honduran army has occupied the house of President Zelaya
in Catacama in the department of Olancho.

As of 1:50 pm today, we have been informed that military patrols
trained in counterinsurgency by the Southern Command of the USA since
the days of the dirty war, are mobilizing and leaving their bases.

We recall that media associated with the coupsters, official
spokespersons of the de facto regime, and international terrorists
like Alejandro Pena Esclusa, have spoken publicly of a bloody plan
for today and/or the next few days, a plan which they are solely
responsible for, but which the cynically attribute to President
Zelaya and Commandante Hugo Chavez.

WE CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE OF HONDURAS

3. This is so odd. They're going for broke, running their operation the way you'd expect to have seen .
in Pinochet's Chile, or in Argentina during the military dictatorship.

How uniquely crude.

They want everyone to know they control the military. They STOLE the military.

4. What do they say? Posession is nine-tenths of the law. The former army
guys in Haiti did the same thing. I expect we are going to see quite a few thuggy things take place. I mentioned in my notes from the meeting with the Honduran delegation that Dr. Almendares warned that the repression will continue after Zelaya returns because this is what the Honduran army does best and they ain't gonna stop until someone makes them. After Zelaya makes it back to Honduras, it going to be a long road to undo all the shit these people have done. And, keep an eye out for another interim prez to appear.

Overall, if you think about the number of high-powered "consultants" involved in this, all the money at stake in bananas, mining, and telecoms, and the strategic positioning of Honduras to be used for a host of Latin American coups, these bastards are not going to take it lying down.

5. The giveaway is that they're acting as if they can't lose.
No matter who is in charge of the civilian government.

7. You are so right, Billy. This stuff has been in the works for so long
that every scenario has been run through several times and numerous responses have been devised for each scenario. What this means is that this is an incredibly dangerous time and many people will likely be hurt.

9. Right. Just as Naomi Klein says in Shock Doctrine.
There are many plans covering most all possible scenarios sitting 'on the shelf' ready and waiting.

How much would a 1 dollar a day raise cost the multinational corporations there? It can't come out of the stockholder's dividends or ceo options. A coup is more manageable, especially with ops run from the US military on our tax dime to boot.

10. These things happen because the American people have no say so in our own government
Obama's election was a sham, a placebo to let us delude ourselves that real substantive change was on the way.

If voting changed anything they would have made it illegal

8. Chavez is in La Paz, Bolivia

From article published this morning by Telesur:

Chávez: Zelaya vuelve con su pueblo

"He (Chavez) said President Zelaya had told him that he (Zelaya) would return to Honduras, instead of continuing to travel the world."

"I am not going to keep going around the world, I prefer to die in my country ...Hugo, I don't know if I am going to die but I am going to Honduras."
