Chávez orders re-evaluation of diplomatic ties with Colombia

Caracas, 20 Jul. ABN.- El presidente de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, Hugo Chávez Frías, indicó este lunes casi a la media noche que la instalación de bases militares estadounidenses en Colombia, “nos obliga a revisar las relaciones” diplomáticas con ese país.

Chávez precisó que ya giró instrucciones al respecto al canciller venezolano, Nicolás Maduro, y destacó que aunque lamenta la decisión, ésta fue tomada “porque ellos (Gobierno colombiano) le están abriendo las puertas a quienes nos agreden permanentemente”.

its going to be difficult to oppose further aid and trade agreements with Colombia when you are using their territory.
