Goriletti give Ven. diplomats 72 hours to get out

and is ordering its diplomats in Caracas to return to Tegu.

Telesur reported that Venezuela said, nope, not going to accept any order from the illegal Gorilettis.

1. Clearly stupid. Goriletti should ask himself if he's outstayed his self-welcome. n/t

3. Gorilettis on Saturday threatened to kick out bunch of ambassadors

Gorilettis are totally insolated worldwide, but they are hell-bent on becoming ever more so, if that is possible. lol ...

"warned Venezuela and other nations that their interference must cease immediately" or their diplomatic missions will be asked to leave.

"There are countries that say they do not recognize the government of Honduras, but maintain their missions in Tegucigalpa and some of them are intervening in an open and threatening manner."

So it could apply to the U.S. ambassador too

2. Things are building up
Call in the Quakers!

I wish every peace group in the world could go down there right now before Zelaya's return.

5. If the Pinochettis push too hard and send out their goons to beat up (or worse)
Edited on Tue Jul-21-09 03:26 PM by magbana
the folks at the Venezuelan mission they will be opening a door they will wish they had left closed.

(Deleted my statement about Pinochettis sending new diplos to Caracas that Chavez to kick out -- dumb of me, since the Venezuelans would never accept a Pinochetti diplo in first place)

6. Expulsion order applies to all ALBA members

Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Dominica, Honduras, San Vicente y las Granadinas, Antigua y Barbudas y Ecuador.

Most have recalled their ambassadors, but there are lower-level staffers still in the embassies.

The Gorilettis told the ALBA diplomatic missions in a letter sent to each of them that the Micheletti government could not guarantee the (physical) integrity and security of the delegations after the 72-hour period expires.

(Scary, it would seem that the gorilettis are setting the stage for violence against diplomatic missions.)

7. Well, well, well! I guess ALBA is going to have to decide collectively
how to deal with this. This is beginning to feel like the Venezuelan coup in 2002 where every gusano in Caracas and Miami went to the Cuban embassy, ostensibly to haul out the Vice-Pres. who they thought was holed up there, where they wrecked cars, cut off electricity and water, and told the Cubans they wouldn't get anything to eat and would have to eat their own furniture. Charming blokes!

Thanks for the info!!
