The Venezuelan government has announced that Maduro will accompany Zelaya from Managua to the border. Zelaya will return tomorrow, Friday.

23 de julio 2009. -El Gobierno de Venezuela anunció este jueves ante el Mercado Común del Sur (Mercosur) que su canciller, Nicolás Maduro, acompaña al legítimo mandatario de Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, en su viaje desde Managua hacia la frontera hondureña.

"El presidente Zelaya entra el día de mañana en Honduras. El presidente (de Nicaragua, Daniel) Ortega y el canciller Maduro lo están acompañando en el viaje a través de Nicaragua hasta la frontera", dijo en Asunción la coordinadora de Venezuela en el Mercosur, Isabel Delgado.

La funcionario dijo tener "información precisa" sobre la situación, pues acababa de dialogar por teléfono con Maduro.

"Tenemos instrucciones precisas de comunicarles a ustedes que el presidente de Honduras ha terminado el dialogo y se dirige a su país a hacer ejercicio del poder encomendado por el pueblo de Honduras", afirmó Delgado ante el Consejo del Mercado Común del Mercosur, reunido en Asunción.
