More info on Xiomara Castro heading to border
Xiomara Castro refused to move towards the border without being accompanied by the protesters. There is fear that she and maybe others will be captured and explelled to Nicaragua.

A few minutes later, Xiomara just left on her way to the border. She is travelling with 40 vehicles to meet with President Zelaya.

Radio Globo is off the air in El Paraiso, Olancho, y Choluteca. Violation of freedom of expression continues.

28 de julio 2009. -La caravana hondureña, encabezada por la Primera Dama de la nación, avanza hacia la frontera de ese país con Nicaragua para encontrarse con el mandatario legítimo Manuel Zelaya, gracias a una orden emitida por la Corte Suprema de Justicia que ha permitido que los retenes militares que se han encontrado en el camino no les impidan el paso.

Así lo detalló la primera dama, Xiomara Castro de Zelaya, en un reciente contacto telefónico con teleSUR. "La fuerza militar se ha doblegado, han salido para sus batallones a recluirse, porque hoy no solamente el pueblo los ha juzgado, sino que el mundo entero", expresó.

La caravana avanza, pasando los obstáculos impuestos por el gobierno golpista de Roberto Micheletti, quien desde hace cinco día mantiene retenes militares en la zona, que han detenido y reprimido a manifestantes que apoyan al presidente constitucional, Manuel Zelaya.

"Hoy estamos felices porque sentimos libertad de poder desenvolvernos", expresó la Primera Dama. Indicó que la meta "es que todos los hondureños que quieran llegar a la frontera que hoy puedan reconocer y saludar a su Presidente".

Denunció que "cinco días estuvimos retenidas ahí por la duereza de las armas del Ejército,
impidiendo que pudieramos llegar hasta el vecino (país) y estar con el presidente".

"Impideron también que pudiera pasar el pueblo, han pasado muchas cosas, hay jóvenes que han perdido a vida", continúo.

No obstante, dijo que los militares comienzan a retirarse, "para que el pueblo no les reclame" por sus acciones golpistas, represoras, y "se han levantado los retenes que han habido en cada uno de los sectores de El Paraíso (sur de honduras, frontera con Nicaragua)".

En el momento del contacto telefónico con teleSUR, la Primera Dama detalló: "Ahorita estamos llegando a otro reten donde hay otros elementos de la policías y vamos a bajarnos para asegurar que éste también sea suspendido".

Aseveró que continuarán en la lucha, porque "estamos defendiendo la libertad y la libere locomoción".

6. No wonder it is taking the First Lady some time to get to the border . . .
I am watching telesur and it showed she is in a town called, i think, Jacaleapa, and it doesn't look like it's very close. So she has not arrived yet.
