Zelaya, U.S. delegation, Llorens meet in Managua

Interesting development. What is Hillary up to now?

-------------------

-- delegation from U.S. included Llorens. (unknown who comprises the full delegation)

-- meeting was in the Honduran Embassy in Managua, reported by Nicaraguan TV and radio station.

-- photographers at the scene said heavy security cordon thrown around the embassy by Nicaraguan police and U.S. security agents. (U.S. security agents in Nicaragua? Who else is there to protect??)

-- U.S. Embassy spokespeople "not aware" of meeting, but would release information when it becomes available.

-- Zelaya returned to Managua at dawn Thursday from the Nica/Hond border.

1. Results of Zelaya-Llorens meeting in Managua

Nothing.

Zelaya told Llorens that the United States had to get tough with the golpistas.

Patricia Rodas said it had been merely a meeting of reiteration of previous positions and the panorama had not changed.

The meeting lasted three hours.

In a way, it was sort of a minor victory for Zelaya, because the United States had asked Zelaya to go to Washington for discussions this past Tuesday. Zelaya refused and said that if the U.S. wanted to talk to him, they could come down to CentAM.

Well, today the mountain went to Muhammed.

Now back to the happy hour at the White House.
