As of today, fly into or out of Honduras at your own risk

Few minutes ago on Radio Globo (at 1:30 Honduran time, 3:30 Eastern)

Communique read on the air said that in solidarity with the resistance, the country's 96 meteorologists have declared an indefinite, nationwide strike as of 1 p.m. Honduras time today.

That means that air traffic controllers (who also may walk out, not clear yet) will not get the necessary weather-condition information needed for incoming and outgoing international flights, in addition to internal flights.

The meteorologists said they would not be responsible for any airplanes that take off or land as of 1 p.m.

Will be watching to see if international flights are affected. Think American Airlines and Continental fly into Tegu. and SPS. If international flights are affected, this will really turn the screws on the golpista regime.

2. It may become necessary for groups to travel together in private cars, then,
from the border, trying to stay together for safety's sake:

It won't matter too much to the coup plotters, as they are not wildly welcome to come here, anyway, and probably not that many other places, either! They'd probably better make plans to stick close to home, so their death squads can protect them from protesters.

3. Speaking of traveling in cars

As of tomorrow, the union that groups Honduras' 14,000 taxi owners will go on an indefinite strike as part of the resistance. That includes 7,000 in Tegu.

Anecdotes:

-- A caller to Radio Globo asked how the Costa Rica football team will fly to Honduras for a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday, in case international flights cannot land. Football is a very big deal in Honduras and its team still has a chance to go to South Africa next summer.

-- A group of 10-12 psychologists are in the studios of Radio Globo to provide FREE counseling to anyone who is suffering from depression, tension, nervousness, fear, etc. because of the climate the golpists have created.

4. Have never heard of an effort like this from the ground UP. It's tremendous.
They thought they could grab the government, comandeer the military, require them them to hold guns on any dissenters, reinforce their control by killing protesters now and then, and then the country would belong to them, without having to go to the trouble of rigging elections.

I have never heard of such an open dislike for right-wing criminals who control the military, even. These people are so courageous, in the face of horrendous destruction from desperate fascists.

Can't believe Radio Globo is still keeping on ticking! Wonderful. Hope they will remain safe, somehow.
