2. Good to read Zelaya believes some of the Army is split over the coup, |
|
might be leaning in his direction. Thank you for posting this article.
Sure hoping for his protection, and that of the people of Honduras. Screw the gorilettis.

3. All along there has appeared to be a split between the |
|
high level officers and the lower officers. If Zelaya had one General on his side that would probably make the difference. Remember, in Chile they had to arsenate the Chief of Staff before the junta could go forward.
With the wave of prosecutions for prior crimes sweeping South America, I kind of wonder if that might not be the impetuous for the Honduran military. Zelaya has been good to the military, the base movement issue is a red herring.

4. Didn't know that about the base issue. Interesting. |
|
Hope the coup perpetrators will have the opportunity to regret rejecting Zelaya's agreement to give them immunity when he returned.

60 years later, we are still prosecuting WWII crimes.

6. There's still some unfinished business from their part in Iran/Contra, no doubt, |
|
some true evil crimes from their own death squads which should be prosecuted, and exorcised.
They reopened their stock of atrocities all over again with the onset of this coup. Probably some of their tactics learned at SOA.
