UE pide respeto por la vida de Zelaya - US asks that Zelaya's life is respected (okay -!)
Bruselas, 24 sep (PL) La Unión Europea (UE) pidió hoy respeto a la integridad física del presidente constitucional de Honduras,Manuel Zelaya, su familia y miembros de su gobierno, cuyas vidas peligran por el asedio militar a la embajada brasileña en Tegucigalpa.

En una declaración emitida, la presidencia sueca de la UE le recordó al gobierno de facto de Roberto Micheletti el principio de inviolabilidad de las sedes diplomáticas, al tiempo que respaldó la reciente declaración del Grupo de Río sobre la situación en la nación centroamericana.

En la misma se condenan los actos violentos perpetrados contra seguidores de Zelaya, que saludaban a su presidente en las inmediaciones de la embajada brasileña, donde el mandatario constitucional es huésped de honor desde su retorno sorpresivo al país.

En declaraciones a Radio Nacional de España, que publica hoy el diario matutino madrileño ABC, Zelaya expresó su temor a un inminente asalto de las fuerzas de seguridad al inmueble, al denunciar el plan de los golpistas de que grupos mercenarios entren y lo asesinen.

También se conoció que la UE y la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) acordaron el retorno de sus embajadores a Tegucigalpa, quienes fueron retirados de Honduras después del golpe de Estado de hace tres meses.

En rueda de prensa, el ministro español de Asuntos Exteriores, Miguel Angel Moratinos, precisó que el objetivo de esta decisión es ayudar a sentar las bases para resolver el conflicto en Honduras tras el nuevo escenario.

Por su parte, el secretario general de la OEA, José Miguel Insulza, confirmó la intención de la organización de enviar una segunda misión de cancilleres a Tegucigalpa para promover una mesa de diálogo entre las partes en conflicto.

Insulza aseguró que Micheletti está dispuesto a recibir a la misión, que podría viajar mañana viernes o el sábado, y ha ordenado el envío de una avanzada a la capital hondureña para ver las condiciones sobre el terreno.

Para hoy está anunciada, a solicitud de Brasil, una reunión urgente del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU para tratar el tema hondureño sobre la cual Moratinos dijo: "Espero que haya el consenso suficiente para que se pueda aprobar una declaración", y precisó el apoyo de España a esta nueva ofensiva diplomática.

Brussels, Sep 24 (Prensa Latina) The European Union (EU) requested
Today respect for physical integrity of President
Constitution of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, his
family and members of his government, whose lives
jeopardized by the military siege of the embassy
Brazilian Tegucigalpa.

In a statement, the Swedish Presidency
EU reminded the de facto government
Roberto Micheletti the principle of inviolability
of diplomatic missions, while supported
the recent statement of the Rio Group on the
situation in the Central American nation.

At the same violent acts are condemned
perpetrated against followers of Zelaya, who
greeted their president in the vicinity of
Brazilian embassy, at which the
Constitution is the guest of honor from its
surprise return to the country.

Speaking on National Radio of Spain, today published the Madrid daily ABC morning, Zelaya expressed fear of an imminent assault by security forces to the building, denouncing the coup plan that mercenary groups come and murder him.

It was also learned that the EU and the Organization of American States (OAS) agreed to the return of their ambassadors in Tegucigalpa, Honduras who were retired after the coup three months ago.

At a press conference, the Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos, said the aim of this decision is to help lay the groundwork for resolving the conflict in Honduras after the new scenario.

For its part, the OAS Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza, confirmed the intention of the organization to send a second mission of foreign ministers in Tegucigalpa to promote a dialogue between conflicting parties.

Insulza said Micheletti is ready to receive the mission, which could go Friday or Saturday morning and ordered the dispatch of an advance to the Honduran capital to see the conditions on the ground.

For today's announcement, at the request of Brazil, an urgent meeting of the Security Council of the UN to discuss the issue on which Honduran Moratinos said: "I hope there sufficient consensus to be able to adopt a statement" and said the Spain's support for this new diplomatic offensive.
