Brazil Calls on Honduras to Restore Ousted President (Update1)

Sept. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Brazil called on the acting government of Honduras to reinstate ousted President Manuel Zelaya and sought a United Nations response to “threats” against its embassy in the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa.

Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim said Brazil had sent a new letter to the UN about the threats. Speaking to reporters in Brasilia, he also said Zelaya, once restored, should preside over elections.

“The de-facto government is showing deafness to the international community, a total denial for dialogue and a peaceful solution,” Amorim said ...
