BUENOS AIRES, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Argentine President Cristina Fernandez has met with Clara Rojas, who was released in January by Colombia's largest rebel group after being kept hostage for six years, local media reported Tuesday.
During their 50-minute meeting at the presidential palace Monday night, Rojas thanked Fernandez and asked the president to continue her efforts to free more hostages.
Fernandez said she will meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris on April 7 to discuss the topic, according to the report.
Sarkozy has expressed concern about the fate of Ingrid Betancourt, a dual French-Colombian citizen kidnapped by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in 2002 while running for presidency.
