Record drug busts of the Chavez government in Venezuela
Yeah, I know, it's kind of screwy to credit record drug busts in Venezuela to Chavez, by mentioning his name as the president of the country's government, when chief credit belongs to the Bolivarian National Guard and other police forces in Venezuela, but the corpo-fascist press does the same all the time, in order to DISCREDIT Chavez--whether its street crime, or inflation, or some screwball local police scandal with a gang of robbers (including a police woman) painting anti-Semitic slogans on the walls of a Jewish temple they are robbing, to throw the investigators off. It's all Chavez's fault, right? So, hey, he gets some credit when things go right in Venezuela (as they frequently do--another surprise, if all you read is the corpo-fascist press).

From IncaKola News (see the original for links):

-----------------------

Remember how Venezuela is directly responsible for the world cocaine trafficking business, even though it doesn't grow any coca, produce any cocaine and is totally guilty of everything whitepowdery just cos happens to be stuck between the world's biggest producer of the stuff and the world's biggest user of the stuff? Recall how Hugo Chávez himself is directly responsible for the cocaine that your twenty month old boy is snorting up his nose?

So how come Venezuela is having a record year for cocaine interception, confiscation and arrests of traffickers? Riddle me that one, oh brainwashed masses. Here's the latest (LINK), a tidy haul of the stuff seized en route to gawdknows where and coming from Colombia.

"San Cristóbal, 14 Dic. ABN: Members of the Number 1 Regional Command of the Bolivarian National Guard in the state of Tachira, under the order of Brigade General Franklin Jaimes Márquez, successfully seized 14.15kg of presumed cocaine from a secret compartment in the motor of a vehicle, the drug destined for the state of Barinas..." (LINK)

The big seizures tend to catch the big news stories, but that's not how it works at ground level. The seizures go on and on, day after day and week after week. 55kg here (LINK), another 38kg there (LINK), here's 57kg (LINK) found in sacks of carrots, another 47kg (LINK) in this report, not to mention a couple of tonnes of mary jane (LINK) from time to time. All those above links are captures in Venezuela. All in the last three weeks. It all came from Colombia.

And wait! What's this? Colombia's manual eradication program for 2009 was supposed to get rid of 70,000 hectares of coca plants. The result? Just 54,180 hectares (LINK). Hugo Chávez is directly responsible for the failure of Colombia to control its illegal crops too, ya knowz.

Ever had the feeling they've been lying to you?

(my emphasis)

--------------------------

The corrupt, failed, murderous US "war on drugs" is nothing but a bullshit war profiteer scheme to take billions and billions of dollars out of the pockets of US taxpayers and put them into the pockets of US war contractors, and into the pockets of the Colombian military for their death squad activities and other 'investments,' and to further other bad purposes including never stopping the hard drug trade. The countries that reject this US cauldron of corruption (and tool for meddling)--the US "war on drugs"--are doing a better job of policing the drug trade than those on whom we lard billions of dollars. And that includes Bolivia, where they have, at long last, legalized the coca leaf (an ancient indigenous medicine) as distinguished from cocaine (highly processed coca). These countries have a SANE drug policy. We have what?--another nutso "war."

But trying to get our government, our politicians and our war profiteering corporate 'news' monopolies to stop lying about this is probably a hopeless cause. It's good to read the truth now and again, though--thanks to energetic internet truthtellers like IncaKola News. Maybe some day the truth will prevail.
