1. Crap. Now we're less civilized than Paraguay.
I keep hearing that the US is "the greatest country in the world." What metric could they be using?

system can afford want/need/desire a 150 feet of yacht.

He posted this right before Lugo's election.

You know, your comment about Lugo's weakness in not getting control of the legislature falls on deaf ears here, as WE know he's the first democratic leader they've had since 1947. Their country has been controlled by the Colorado Party all this time, with 35 years of it under the total control of US-approved MONSTER torturer, genocidal murder Alfredo Stroessner.

Jimmy Carter, by the way, a DEMOCRATIC President, was the one who recoiled from the filthy nazi-loving beast Stroessner, and moved our country farther away politically from his sadistic, delusional feudal state.

If Lugo, facing the continuing elements of the vile, murderous, racist Colorado party is having any difficulty at all getting their support, what FOOL would open himself to ridicule by claiming it's LUGO'S fault, Lugo a man who was forced into exile by the Colorado's Fuhrer Stroessner, who also tortured and imprisoned Lugo's father and two brothers

Alfredo Stroessner, with fellow US-approved genocidal, torture-loving piece of filth, Augusto Pinochet.

6. I don't read the OP as blaming Lugo for anything
To the contrary, the assertion that Lugo doesn't have control of either house of the legislature is meant to highlight his accomplishment in nevertheless achieving an important win for the people.

The person being implicitly criticized was another country's elected leader, whose party DOES have such control and yet who still can't come close to matching Lugo's achievement.
