1. This is a useful article. Hope more people will learn what has happened there.
This pattern by IMF is so familiar, it no longer looks accidental. If it were accidental that flooding a country with US subsidized agricultural products caused widespread poverty, destroyed the livelihood of native farm owners and farm workers, it would have stopped after the first time this happened, so we are left to assume the obvious.

3. Thanks, again for posting this article. It was still fresh in my mind a few minutes ago,
which allowed me to use it to inform one wildly confused dipstick on the looooong Haiti thread in LBN.

Undoubtedly there will be GOOD people reading LBN who will be very glad to find out about these things for the first time, who hadn't heard about them earlier.
