Chavez berates food producer's union leader
Polar union leader Richard Prieto announced last week that employees of Empresas Polar have agreed to defend their jobs whenever the government threatens the company.

You can usually tell when a leftist leader has gone bad by when the Unions turn on him.

1. Workers have seen what's happened in other nationalizations
The State promises many things to them but then refuses to treat them as other public workers. No collective contracts, no salary indexation to the inflation, etc.
In Guayana (steel, aluminum, hydroelectricity) and around Maracaibo lake (oil company's contractors), the unions have been complaining all year.
