Our old friend Negroponte has a gig working at Yale
at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, and General Prisoner Abuse McChrystal is joining him there.

Stanley McChrystal to Yale
Politico
Gordon Lubold – Mon Aug 16, 9:22 am ET

Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who was forced to retire in July after an embarrassing Rolling Stone article quoted him and his staff making disparaging remarks about top White House officials, is taking a job at Yale, POLITICO has learned.

McChrystal will teach grad students a course in leadership at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs in New Haven, which is opening this fall. He’ll be in good company: McChrystal will join John Negroponte, the former U.S. ambassador and former deputy secretary of state, as well as former Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo at the institute.

McChrystal had been considering a number of opportunities from a wide range of places, from large corporations to nongovernmental organizations and even some wounded warrior groups seeking his leadership, sources said. And he will undoubtedly have a future on the speaker’s circuit.

But he's taking a different tack, at least for now, in agreeing to be a lecturer at an Ivy League school such as Yale, which seems as far away from the world McChrystal has known as a terrorist-killing Special Forces operator. (See: Petraeus downplays July 2011)

Ironically, this institute was funded in 2009 by a $50 million grant from John W. Jackson, a retired Big Pharma careerist.

These IranContra boys do all right for themselves!

1. They need to get Jubilation T. Cornpone on staff.
I sort of think Al Capp would have a lot of fun with the present crop.

You did a heck of a job in Honduras, John.

John Negroponte was ambassador to Honduras from 1981-1985. As such he supported and carried out a US-sponsored policy of violations to human rights and international law. Among other things he supervised the creation of the El Aguacate air base, where the US trained Nicaraguan Contras during the 1980's. The base was used as a secret detention and torture center, in August 2001 excavations at the base discovered the first of the corpses of the 185 people, including two Americans, who are thought to have been killed and buried at this base.

During his ambassadorship, human rights violations in Honduras became systematic. The infamous Battalion 316, trained by the CIA and Argentine military, kidnaped, tortured and killed hundreds of people. Negroponte knew about these human rights violations and yet continued to collaborate with them, while lying to Congress.

3. He ought to fit right in at Yale.
Honorary member of Skull and Bones?

He might also teach a class in Business Ethics.

5. If he wouldn't be a natural for Skull & Bones, no one would.
He probably knows where they could have their choice of hundreds of skulls to replace the skull of Geronimo's the Chiricahua Apaches want back, which they stole.
