Uribe protester arrested in Georgetown class
A protester was arrested Monday for disturbing the peace during a lecture by former Colombian president Alvaro Uribe at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Nico Udu-Gama, a member of "Colation Adios Uribe" as well as the Non-Governmental Organization SOS Watch, was attending the comparative politics class in which Uribe was speaking. According to reports, he began to shout insults at the former president and was then arrested by police.

Coalition Adios Uribe has staged protests across the Georgetown University campus outside classes in which Uribe is speaking, condemning Uribe's human rights record in his eight years as Colombian president.

Uribe's position as an invited professor at the university has drawn much criticism and protest from students and NGOs. Protesters argue that Uribe's appointment as a "distinguished scholar in the practice of global leadership" at the Georgetown's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service that the former leader does not represent the ideals promoted by the school.

Now that Georgetown can't hide is schedule anymore, the protests against him must be massive. Does anybody have any pictures?

1. I would be careful with Uribe
Maybe they will use this to capture photographs of anti Uribe individuals, then send their death squads to kill them if they think they are associated with the FARC. Colombians are known to be very nasty.

2. To what do we sincere readers owe
the sarcastic taunts regarding the size of the protests against Uribe?

6. because
A certain poster here was totally and completely certain that there would have been a massive protest except for the fact that Georgetown hid when Uribe was coming, but that there would be in the future as the community has time to organize.

It is obvious that the students at Georgetown don't care. (Weather they should or not is a different question).

But in short, the taunts are due to a certain poster never, ever, under any circumstances, ever admitting that he/she was wrong.

7. You are essentially punishing someone from thread to thread.
You are not naming the person, but the person is, in fact, "another member". From the rules:

Do not "stalk" another member from one discussion thread to another. Do not follow someone into another thread to try to continue a disagreement you had elsewhere. Do not talk negatively about an individual in a thread where they are not participating. Do not post messages with the purpose of "calling out" another member or picking a fight with another member.

--snip--

You cannot attack someone because they attacked you first, or because that person "deserved it".

That sort of behavior is not going to earn anyone respect. On the contrary...
