1. No one can replace this amazing man. So sad he wasn't able to see
the end of the embargo before he died.

Hope his friends, his kindred spirits will do everything possible to keep this mission intact, and build on it until the embargo is gone, and beyond.

So much important human work has been done by his heart, energy, intelligence.

Good quote from a source in the article:
"He's one of the most respected American people, if not the most respected, in Cuba..."
Thanks to roody.

3. Thanks for this heads up! I have always greatly admired Pastors for Peace.
And I didn't know that they had been fired upon, and that Lucius Walker had been shot, by Reagan's "contra" thugs in Nicaragua.

If there is one thing that I could do for truth and justice in the world it would be to expose Ronald Reagan for what he was--a genocidal maniac who colluded on the horrible slaughter of TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND Mayan villagers in Guatemala, and who defied the last good U.S. Congress that we have had--the one that forbade a U.S. war on Nicaragua--and created death squads (the "contras") and sent them into Nicaragua to shoot teachers and mayors and people like the Rev. Lucius Walker.

That dreadful Reagan regime continues to be fawned over by the U.S. corpo-fascist media in a most sickening way. I don't have Lucius Walker's patience when it comes to LYING, PROPAGANDISTIC, BLOOD-SOAKED, KISS-THE-ASSES-OF-THE-RICH-AND-THE-POWERFUL, so-called journalists. There is only one thing worse than being murdered, tortured or oppressed for peacefully seeking social justice, and that is being murdered, tortured or oppressed and no one knowing about it, no one caring, and the entire western world fawning over your murderer. In that sense, the last good U.S. Congress that we have had failed us, by not bringing Reagan to justice. And our democracy has never been the same and is, indeed, hardly worthy of the name any more.

Truth is VERY IMPORTANT.
