Indian Law Resource Center and Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian
invite you to a special lecture
Human Rights, U.S. Policy and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
Robert T. Coulter, executive director of the Indian Law Resource Center, first proposed the idea of an international declaration to affirm the rights of indigenous peoples in 1977.
Greg Craig is former White House counsel to President Obama and currently a partner at Skadden Arps in Washington, D.C. Mr. Craig, a longtime friend of the Center, was instrumental, along with Senator Edward Kennedy, in helping resolve the conflict between the Miskito Indians and Nicaragua.
Armstrong Wiggins, director of the Indian Law Resource Center’s Washington D.C. office, has played a critical role in the Center’s standard setting work at the United Nations and the Organization of American States.

Guests should arrive via the South entrance located on Maryland Avenue. Immediately following the lecture, all are welcome to attend a reception in the Potomac Atrium.
