Panamanian social organizations, professionals and indigenous people on Monday demanded U.S. President Barack Obama release the five Cubans imprisoned in the United States since 12 years ago on charge of spying.
Ascario Morales, a representative of the National Union of Indigenous Lawyers (Unaip), told a press conference that his organization was joining the freedom demand for the five Cuban citizens.
"The Panamanian indigenous people express their solidarity with the Cuban people till achieving the release of the five detainees," Morales said.
Meanwhile, Cuban ambassador to Panama Reynaldo Claviac Lafferte said that Obama inherited the problem of the five Cubans, as well as other wrong policies from former U.S. President George W. Bush.
