Brazilian presidential candidate condemns 'Nazis' after being hit on head
The Brazilian presidential candidate Jose Serra was hit on the head by an object while campaigning in Rio de Janeiro.

Published: 6:45PM BST 21 Oct 2010

Mr Serra, 68, was examined by doctors after the incident, which came as some of his supporters scuffled with campaigners for the ruling Workers' Party.

His campaign team said he was left feeling dizzy and he cancelled the rest of his activities for the day despite doctors giving him the all clear.

Mr Serra, a former governor of Sao Paulo state and candidate for the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB), condemned the attack, which happened in the working-class suburb of Campo Grande.

"This is the assault troop of the Workers' Party," he said. "You remember the assault troop of the Nazis? This is typical of fascists."

Brazilian media reported that the "heavy object" which struck him was a roll of tape.

Yeah, Brazil has such a hideous history of brutality by the left, doesn't it? Oh, yeah! That torture-loving, murderous Brazilian dictatorship was RIGHT-WING, like SERRA. Whoops!

1. TV reporting the object was a paper wad

At 34 seconds into the video the small white object can be seen. But Serra continued campaigning for another 20 minutes and only after he left the scene did the serristas raise a fuss that he had been attacked.

Serra today accused Lula of being responsible for campaign violence. Lula responded that it had been a show mounted by the Serra people. A "farce, a lie, a shameful thing, yesterday should be named a day of farce, a dia of lies." mounted by the Serra people," Lula said.

Dilma today was campaigning in the city of Curitiba, which has supported Serra, in an open vehicle when a water-filled balloon thrown from a highrise hit the trunk of the car. She was seen to flinch.

So it seems that in view of the latest polls, Serra is getting desperate.

2. That's so bogus! As he was heading for his car, he put his hand up on his head,
as if to pat the area where the paper wad bounced off it, and he actually rubbed the top of his head whereas the paper wad hat hit the right side of his head.

I'm surprise they didn't call for a medi-helicopter!

Yep, he seems to be getting very desperate, for sure. At least that interrupted his sad movement through the people, holding his claws up in two "V's" as he worked the crowd.

"Oooooh, he's so manly!"

(How can you not love the 2nd photo? His shadow is holding a cuckold sign above his own head. :bounce: )
