Bolivian president issues new education law
Bolivian president issues new education law
13:55, December 21, 2010

Bolivian President Evo Morales Monday issued a new education law aimed at providing equal access to education for all social sectors and implementing a new decolonization education model.

"Teachers are the soldiers and tools for Bolivia's liberation and decolonization...teachers will have in their hands a law, made by Bolivians, and approved by the Legislative Assembly," Morales said.

He said education must boost solidarity, because "it is more important to share before competing."

Morales also said it was the state's obligation to provide equal educational opportunities to all people.
