Havana, Cuba (CNN) -- A Cuban government-run website has begun translating into Spanish and posting online leaked U.S. government cables that discuss the island nation.
"Las Razones de Cuba" or "Cuba's Reasons" has as of Friday published seven cables originally released by WikiLeaks, the group whose leaks of confidential documents has been deeply embarrassing for U.S. officials.
The translated cables detail meetings between independent Cuban bloggers with officials from the United States Interests Section, the U.S. diplomatic mission in Cuba.
According to the "Cuba's Reasons" website, the cables show an attempt by U.S. officials to "organize youth networks to subvert the Cuban Revolution."
The website promised to continue posting the leaked cables.

HAVANA: Cuba’s state-run media is reporting that the government will publish Spanish translations of diplomatic cables about the communist-run island, leaked by Wikileaks.
Cubadebate website says the Razones de Cuba site has already posted literal translations of seven of the leaked cables.
It says the posted cables originated in the US Interests Section in Havana and “prove the links between the so-called ‘internal dissidence’ and the United States government ...and the attempts to organise youth networks to subvert the Cuban revolution.”
The US has no formal diplomatic relations with Cuba and maintains the Interest Section instead of an embassy.

Cuban authorities are going to release about 2 thousand diplomatic cables of the U.S. State Department on the internet. These secret US dispatches published at Wikileaks concern the interests of this communist country.
As per BBC in reference to the website Cubadebate, Cuban authorities by publishing the cables want to draw public attention to the imperialist nature of U.S. policy, as well as point to Washington’s efforts to subvert the Cuban Revolution.
The first batch of documents has already been translated into Spanish and posted on the site. In some cables, U.S. diplomats have lashed out at the Cuban opposition parties, which, in their opinion, are disconnected and detached from ordinary people.
Cubadebate said their main focus would be on cables originating in the US interests section in Havana, which is the source of 507 leaked cables.

In some of them, US diplomats criticise Cuban opposition groups as divided and out of touch with ordinary people.
Of 2,080 leaked cables in which Cuba is mentioned, Wikileaks have so far made public only 62.
Cubadebate said it would focus on cables originating in the US interests section in Havana, the source of 507 leaked cables.
