Belarus intends to step up trade and economic cooperation with Brazil and Ecuador, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on May 27 as he accepted credentials from Ambassador of Brazil Carlos Antonio da Rocha Paranhos and Ambassador of Ecuador to Belarus Patricio Alberto Chavez Zavala. The Belarussian president said that most Latin America countries share Belarus’ approaches to building a multipolar world, the desire to work out an independent development strategy. It creates additional prerequisites for expanding the political collaboration, economic cooperation, cultural and educational ties.
“The Belarusian state is interested in promoting a political dialogue with Brazil, including a top-level dialogue,” Lukashenko said. “While the dynamics of the bilateral trade and economic partnership is positive, its potential is not fully used yet.” Lukashenko said Belarus’ relations with Mexico develop quite well. “We are ready for expanding collaboration with the country in all international organisations,” he stressed accepting credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to Belarus (combined office) Alfredo Perez Bravo.
The head of state remarked, the forthcoming signing of bilateral documents will create the necessary basis for enhancing the cooperation and both Belarus and Mexico will be able to find many common avenues of cooperation. Accepting credentials from the Ecuadorian Ambassador, Lukashenko remarked, “We are ready for establishing long-term political and economic partnership with Ecuador. There are good prospects for it. The establishment of an interstate dialogue at the top level is undoubtedly able to give an effective boost to the development of versatile cooperation between our countries.” Belarus is ready to build mutually beneficial relations and participate in creating a powerful scienceintensive economy in Mexico, Lukashenko said. Belarus is a country, which relishes its sovereignty, a country with a considerable economic and human resources potential, which makes the country a reliable, profitable and predictable partner in the international arena, he said. “We are ready for an honest and sincere dialogue with foreign nations,” he said.
