Uribe to teach at French university
Uribe to teach at French university
Wednesday, 02 March 2011 15:24
Edward Fox

A university in northeastern France announced on Wednesday that former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe will teach a course called "Economic development in Latin America."

The course will be taught in English, although the institution gave no details of the syllabus.

The university, ENIM, published a statement on its website with a brief biography of Uribe.

Uribe was awarded an honorary degree from the university in October 2007, and accepted this role last year, according to reports.

This is the second teaching role Uribe will have since leaving the presidency last year, having already held a position at Georgetown University in the U.S.

1. He can teach them all about consolidation of the trillion dollar-plus cocaine trade
using $7 BILLION in U.S. "war on drugs" military aid as cover. That's something every economics student should know how to do.

2. This is going to be interesting

if uribito will in fact teach that course in France. Read the French announcement but see no starting date.

It could be be that the protests against uribito in France will dwarf the protests at Georgetown.

Speaking of Georgetown, uribito has not shown up since November, if I remember correctly.

The Drummond case is hanging over his head and until the JOD and Hil decide on the immunity question, doubt alvarito will be stepping on U.S. soil.

The federal judge in the Drummond case gave DOJ/Hil until March 11 to decide.

3. Rabs, thanks for the alert on the pending date on thie Drummond trial response.
Sure would like to see the little fella required to testify but I assume there's very little chance that would ever happen, as long as he has friends in high places in the U.S.

Hope to learn he has just begun his own trial by fire over the approaching years. It would be so righteous if finally the law came after him as it did the bloody murderers in Argentina, and Chile.

5. Nothing on the U.S. DOJ/Hillary decision on immunity

Just checked, can't find any story/article yet, despite it being a federal judge's order.

But did find something else. A group of French and other EU parliamentarians have protested uribito's giving lectures at an engineering university in Metz, France.

A letter from the group mentions 3,000 "false positives," the parapoliticians being investigated or in jail (cuz Mario Uribe), corruption, assassinations --- all the things we here on the Latam forum have known for years.

The story in El Espectador says he gave his first lecture in France last week.
