Weisbrot, Penn meet with Chavez @ Miraflores (Spanish, + video)
En horas de la tarde el Presidente Chávez se reunió con el actor estadounidense Sean Penn en el palacio de Miraflores desde donde ofreció unas palabras aprovechando la ocasión para lamentar la muerte de Lina Ron.

Sobre el actor estadounidense, el presidente Chávez indicó que "es un activista de las luchas por los pueblos oprimidos del mundo y se ha metido a fondo con el tema de Haití, por ejemplo. Haití, para nosotros, es una causa histórica y parte de la patria, tierra bolivariana y pueblo hermano”, enfatizó.

Añadió: "Nos da gusto tener a verdaderos amigos que andan por el mundo luchando por esta causa social".

El actor estadounidense estuvo acompañado por el productor cinematográfico del Circuito Hollywood, Fernando Sulichín, y el guionista y codirector del Centro de Investigación en Economía y Política Mark Weisbrot.

Sean Penn también se reunió con el Mandatario venezolano el 28 de octubre de 2009, pero antes, en octubre de 2008, lo acompañó durante la inspección del Sistema Nororiental de Gas (Sinorgas), en el estado Sucre, en el oriente del país.

again, the tremendous help Venezuela has provided to emergency work in Haiti. That never is acknowledged here, not by a long shot.

It was great seeing the video clip. Thanks for posting it. Hope Sean Penn will continue to grow, inwardly. He's well on his way now.

On edit, glad to see another outstanding person, Mark Weisbrot, as well.

2. I had to laugh at myself because I like Weisbrot's commentary so much
I subconsciously gave him top billing in my thread title.
