1. Just saw the children and wife of a man who's in jail? Murdered?
I couldn't understand much, just caught occassional words. The lady's husband is an educator? The son couldn't keep back the tears completely, and the lady behind him couldn't either. His sister is devastated.

This concerns privatization of the schools? They are enforcing it for certain?

More people arriving.

Thank you, rabs.

2. They are family members

of about two dozen teachers who were detained last week during the demonstrations.

The detained teachers are in jail and family members have had no access to them.

There is to be a hearing tomorrow.

Latest: The teacher's union has filed charges against lobo and alvarez guerrero and another man for the death of the teacher last week and for holding 17 teachers in jail.

Things are heated today in Teguz.

3. Thanks for this information. That room was really filling up quickly when they left coverage.
Oh, now they're showing the outside.

I recognize that street as one the crowds followed I believe on a march during a previous demonstration right after the coup.

Thanks again for this link.

5. Striking Honduran teachers face suspensions
Striking Honduran teachers face suspensions
By the CNN Wire Staff
March 28, 2011 -- Updated 1513 GMT (2313 HKT)

http://i.cdn.turner.com.nyud.net:8090/cnn/2011/WORLD/americas/03/28/honduras.teacher.strike/t1larg.honduran.teachers.jpg

(CNN) -- Honduran teachers who have been on strike for 21 days faced a decision Monday morning: return to the classroom or endure punishments.

The government on Sunday issued an ultimatum, disseminated on radio and television, to the teachers, saying that if they did not show up for work Monday, they would be suspended for two months without pay. Those who do not show up by Wednesday, will be handed six-month suspensions, and those still striking by next week will not allowed to teach for a year, the government said.

"If these deadlines are not met, the government will begin to execute justified firings," the statement said.

The teachers are protesting an education bill that they say can lead to the privatization of the public school system. They are also demanding salaries owed from last year to some 5,000 teachers.
