1. Christina Fernandez de Kirchner in the morning, Evo Morales in the afternoon. |
|
I've never seen a U.N. schedule before, and din't know you could get streaming coverage. This is wonderful.
Can't believe George W. Bush is dragging his ratty ass in there again. The world needs some recovery time away from his lethal presence.

2. I think the ass-kicker tomorrow will be . . . |
|
Daniel Ortega.
I watched the UN general debate gavel to gavel in both 2006 and 2007. It is an incredible, great drama. I expect a lot of ass-kicking from the Latin Americans this year.
Don't forget that in addition to the speeches tomorrow, There will be press conferences by Ahmedinejad .at 5:30 PM and Morales at 7:30 pm edt
Also, C-SPAN carries the speeches a few days later in the wee hours. I imagine Bush's speech will be carried live on networks.

5. Evo Morales just completed his speech. Didn't hear as much of it as I wanted, after waiting all day |
|
to hear him. Had to leave the room for a few minutes. Damn.
I hope they'll have all his speech, as well as the other ones from today available in transcript. This was the first time I've ever used this opportunity to hear them. It's great.
I was worrying the translator was not giving the entire translation for Morales, however. He was so damned slow. Sounds like Evo Morales really let the chips fall where they should! Wonderful, WONDERFUL. About time.

6. What a line-up! That's hot! I hope the good guys brought their crucifixes and |
|
garlic wreaths. They're going to need to fumigate the place.
