Chavez expresses interest in dialogue with Obama

in Spanish, but you get the point. US bashing will no longer be a viable option for Chavez to garner support.

looking forward to watching Chavez, Castro, and Morales crawling on their knees back to the US. it will also be interesting to see how US-Colombia relations play out given that Colombia stood behind the US and has taken some heat for it. looking forward to the next 4 years.

1. Since when does rejection of Bush doctrine, and now hope for a change = crawling on their knees?
You don't think that contact and dialog is a good thing?

Do you really think that parties willing to suspend their prior suspicions to come to the table of dialog means they are "crawling on their knees"?

I'm hoping that Obama's negotiators show a little more tact and a more respectful and less condescending attitude than you and Bushco.

I'm hoping for change. Are you?

2. change is already evident and its just been two days
I am hoping for change in Venezuela certainly.

dialog implies a two way conversation though, not just "please do what we want". I just don't see how the dialog with Chavez would work. Please don't invade my country, please don't assassinate me. please buy more of our oil because I have not done anything to diversify the economy.

but honestly, give me a sense of what this dialog would involve in your judgment.
