Senators Lieberman, McCain And Graham Ask Obama To Halt Transfer Of Yemeni Gitmo Detainees

Christina Bellantoni

Sen. Joe Lieberman, Sen. John McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham wrote a letter to President Obama today asking he halt any transfer of the six Yemeni detainees being held in Guantanamo Bay.

The trio of senators, who often see eye-to-eye on national security issues, said the transfer of the detainees would be "highly unwise and ill-considered."

Lieberman (I-CT) McCain (R-AZ) and Graham (R-SC) asked that until the United States is sure the detainees "will not return to the battlefield," all transfers to Yemen should cease.

A senior administration official tells TPMDC that Obama's Guantanamo review specifically identifies each detainee.

Knew this was coming once the MSM began hyping stories about Yemen.

6. The perfect question that, if there still existed a REAL media, would be asked....
sadly, there is no longer any such animal so good questions are forbidden to enter the mainstream.

and I wouldn't like to be in their shoes when the light bulb goes on, on the right. The tea party movement shows they are beginning to work it out it's only time before they understand the whole scam. I think one way round their games is to draw up creative posters on PCs and say do you ever notice how much Republicans try to scare ya, do you ever notice how much they say frightened, worried and scared, ever feel you're being played. Then just slap them all around your local towns. The poster could say only you know how you feel don't Republicans choose your emotions. We're braver than they think our solutions come through calm, thoughtful decisions. The posters could do with being constant too becuase the game never changes.

11. Our President
is not listening to the those trolls. They have been all over the Sunday circuit saying everything from a pre-emptive strike on Yemen to all kinds of ridiculous bulls--t.They have nothing better to do than to stonewall any form of progress. This lets you know that the country's best interest is not at the forefront of their decision making process. We have successfully incarcerated all types of criminals from terrorist to serial killers. And with as much hard ass bad talk as they, the republicons do, i know they cant' be scared of any thing.Thats probably why a lot of them have bodyguards, because after they sell those wolf tickets they are scared that someone will come along and buy a dozen.
