If terrorists cared about profit, would they cease to be terrorists? |

Killing someone in a suicide bombing is an act of terror.
A drug kingpin killing a witness is a crime.
One is motivated by the desire to wage holy war (to do a higher power's calling) One is motivated by profit.
We are at war with what is basically criminals. There are no countries that we are at war with. War is an outdated concept - this is now really a police state within a democracy.

from thug to political actor. We respond to criminal acts with arrests and charges. We respond to terrorist acts with bombs and war.
To use the military to respond to one idiot with powder in his undies would expose how weak and easily goaded we are.

people are so easily frightened and manipulated. it's behavior like this that got us into Afghanistan and Iraq in the first place. i've been having deja'vu all week.
