Love it or hate it, the fact is that we are more militarily engaged today than under Bush/Cheney in 2008.

Afghanistan? Obama has increased our commitment there 400-500%.

Pakistan? Drone attacks are up. Reports of cross-border special ops incursions.

Yemen? We blew up bunches of people there quite recently. Probably have CIA on the ground.

Somalia? We shot some pirates and have blown up a number of folks.

Secretary of Defense? It's the same guy!

Iraq? A wash... Obama's Iraq withdrawal plan is essentially the same as Bush's Iraq withdrawal plan. (In late 2008 Bush quietly signed onto ending the Iraq war while no one was paying attemntion because by that point the timetable was being set by Iraq, not us. Which was one good reason to retain Gates... he was already working on roughly the same withdrawal plan.)

Iran? Another wash, militarily... Obama won't bomb Iran, but George W. Bush didn't either. Since Cheney couldn't even convince the chimp to bomb Iran it's a weird thing to fault Obama for.

The notable War on Terror metric that has decreased under Obama is torture. (Hence Cheney's ire.)

1. You all know what the problem with cheney is?????
During the time bush was SUPPOSED to be president, cheney ran things. Now he can't tell a real president what to do and he is livid. Just think if he had made us safe then this guy would never have been able to be recruited by the people in Yemen, now could he. He keeps running his mouth, and showing just how ineffective the bush administration was in keeping tract of terrorists.

2. I assume Cheney wrote off Bush as a big wuss circa 2005, but couldn't say so.
Bush knew politics and when the Cheney administration tanked in the polls Cheney lost influence.

Everybody is a big puss except Dick "deferments" Cheney.

Dude's nuts, is the problem.

3. IF we were "safe" because of Bush/Cheney it's because they never actually pursued
Al Qaida. They went after Saddam Hussein instead. Probably another underhanded "arms for hostages" deal made?
