(DeMint is the Republican Senator who said he wished he'd have been the one to shout out the infamous, 'You lie!' He's apparently trying to compete with Sarah Palin to win over the R's 'nut ball' right wing base.)

DeMint has responded to criticism of his decision to put a hold on Obama’s nominee by saying that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s alleged attempted attack in the skies above Detroit “is a perfect example of why the Obama administration should not unionize the TSA.” In his written statement, DeMint explained that if organized labor were involved in airport security, union bosses would have the power “to veto or delay future security improvements at our airports.”

1. Is South Carolina anti-labor overall? Or is DeMint an anomoly?
For 2009, the federal poverty level is $22,050 for a family of four. Children living in families with incomes below the federal poverty level are referred to as poor. But research suggests that, on average, families need an income of about twice the federal poverty level to meet their basic needs. The United States measures poverty by an outdated standard developed in the 1960s.

Children in South Carolina, by Income Level, 2008
In South Carolina, there are 591,014 families, with 1,049,241 children.

Poor Children: 19% (196,803) of children live in poor families (National: 19%), defined as income

9. No, DeMented is not an anomaly, sadly.
This is a "Right to Work" state. Unions, while they do exist, are discouraged. Too many people here buy into the "Shut up and be happy you have a job" fear-mongering.

10. That's why Boeing decided to move a production line
to South Carolina; cheap, docile non-union labor and cooperative politicians.

11. We're a right to work state as well.
I wish we could frame our initiatives as well as the pukes do. Right to work is probably accurate, but they take off the (for Pennies) part.

5. And, he's the one who needs to be hoisted on his own petard
sooner rather than later.

"Who's running the TSA? No one, thanks to Sen. Jim DeMint"

6. SOOOO lets get this correct.
The absolute piece of s**t is so afraid of the American People, who are in the Union, more so than he is a terrorist. Why don't we make it pre-requisite then for all republicans to get a chance to pat down the people from foreign countries who are boarding planes. And if they just happen to trigger a "trigger" well s**t happens especially to a piece of crap.

13. I swear if organized labor started calling itself "confedracies" rather than "unions"
They would suddenly find fans in every southern state. I honestly think that racist bastards like DeMented are just conditioned by generations of hatred for anything called a "union".

You must watch the video above if you want to see DeMint in action praying for the defeat of the health care bill.
