1. but someone told the Republicans...
Edited on Wed Dec-30-09 05:30 PM by Clio the Leo
.... that's why they're wigging out at the moment. (not that "Obama is losing the base" but that the plurality of Americans are pleased with him.)

people are reviewing the year and realizing that Obama has managed to steer us pretty masterfully through some damn rough waters.

When the numbers go up Gallup is good.

When numbers go down, Gallup it a tool of the right wing.

16. The RCP is average is 50.1% and 53 is within the margin of error of that
And if you count Rasmussen as a perpetual outlier (which it is) then it's even closer.

10. I enjoyed watching what's her name on Hardball tonight...
.... sorry, cant think of her name, but Chris had her on with Ron Christie to discuss Cheney's remakrs about firecracker pants ... three weeks ago she was OUTRAGED at the President because of Afghanistan (or it might have been the health care bill or both, I dont remember) ... and she LIT IN to Christie tonight saying how PROUD she was of the President and had full confidence in his decisions "even though I dont agree with him on everything."

It just proves a notion that I have ... even though some may not always agree with him and some may (for whatever readon) become downright mad at him ... we ALL know he's still the best thing going today.

(Doing my Rick Flair impersonation.... "WHEW!!!!")

26. Olbermann and his impressions.
..tend to really suck. Every personality, every facial expression and every tone of voice all sound the same no matter who he is trying to impersonate. With full disregard to method of delivery, I totally enjoy the message he is delivering with most of those impersonations.

37. Remember Reagan in 1983?
POLL SHOWS REAGAN APPROVAL RATING AT 4-YEAR LOW
By E. J. DIONNE Jr.
Published: March 3, 1987

President Reagan's approval rating has plunged to its lowest level in more than four years, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News Poll.

The survey, taken Saturday and Sunday after the release of the report of a Presidential commission on the Iran arms deal, found that 42 percent of those surveyed approved of the way Mr. Reagan was handling his job and 46 percent disapproved.

It was his lowest rating since January 1983, when 41 percent approved of his performance. The survey also marked the first time since April 1983, when the nation was coming out of a deep recession, that more Americans disapproved than approved of Mr. Reagan's performance. Drop of 10 Points

Mr. Reagan's approval rating dropped 10 percentage points since a Times/CBS News Poll five weeks ago. Though this was not as vast as the 21-percentage-point decline Mr. Reagan suffered in November after the Iran scandal came to light, it was a significant drop, especially since the President is now losing ground from a smaller base of more committed supporters.

About half the 1,174 adults interviewed by telephone said Mr. Reagan was lying about key aspects of the Iran arms affair. Only a quarter said he was in charge of what went on in his Administration, down significantly from earlier surveys.
