President Barack Obama looks over his sunglasses at the menu of shave ice at Island Snow, in Kailua, Hawaii Friday, Jan. 1, 2010.

(anyone ever have those moments when you randomly glance at the words, "President Barack Obama" and you get all giddy and joyful and that old tingle starts running up and down your leg? :) )

... I couldn't place it.

"What!? No Jello Pudding Pops!"

(who needs to read a menu at a shaved ice place anyway? ... you just pick your favorite color and move on ..... quit over-thinking everything Obama!!!)

9. nah, I bet he's the type that goes to McDonalds and looks at the menu...
.... that's just WRONG.

And see, this is proof that life works out for the best. That's why HE is the President making the important decisions and taking time to review all options and make the right one ... and you have ME, unlike him, free to go to any dining establishment I want and, with caution thrown to the wind, order on a whim fully prepared to face the consequences of my actions.

:)

7. Secret Service? I think I see another stalker having "tingly feelings" toward me.
Seriously. This stuff is getting scary. No one wants to hear that you have orgasms while looking at the president. At least no one who isn't a stalker in training.

This OP was in very bad form. :(

11. Your "snap, snap" really doesn't make you sound any better.
It was a disturbing comment to make on a public board about the level of your infatuation. I felt it needed to be called out, and did so as civilly as I possibly could. Also, there's little use in trying to have a truly civil discussion with someone who has no intention of joining in.

.... because I know it bugs you. ;)

It's the same reason why I post pictures like this....

.... oh ... if I could ONLY touch the hem of his pant leg it would make my hair less frizzy!

18. The only way thats bugs me is by making all Democrats look like the same mindless drones...
that worshiped that asshole the last 8 years. IOW, it really just makes it look like Democrats--not just you, but perhaps everyone of the similar liberal mind--are infatuated fans.

The truth is that when you admire any person that much, it alters your perception regarding anything that they may do (thereby rendering you somewhat un-objective).

20. Ok, first of all, dont call Bill Clinton an ass hole.....
Edited on Sat Jan-02-10 01:43 AM by Clio the Leo
(that's a joke!)

.... seriously, but that's why we have YOU Oregone, to balance me out. (and I'm being half way sincere here) .... You keep on being overly skeptical and I'll keep on being overly trusting and supportive. Diversity is what makes the world go 'round. (and makes the party strong I think)

But what's important to keep in mind that AFTER 8 years of Bush (and 8 years of Reagan and four years of that other Bush) it's nice to have a Democrat in the WH ... and not just a Democrat, but one with brains in his head (even if we dont always agree with the decisions he makes) and a heart in his chest (even if we dont always agree with his resolve.) And the fact that he seems to be more enamored with his wife than any other woman on the planet doesn't hurt either.

So if SOME of us who know this wont last forever ... want to stop and smell the roses from time to time, I'll ask your forgiveness and patience. ;)

22. While I do understand your exuberance...
Edited on Sat Jan-02-10 01:49 AM by Oregone
after being exposed a lifetime to the names you mentioned, I guess Ive grown weary of the personalities and smiles that sell any policies. How could I not grow cynical amongst such grand rhetoric Ive been exposed to, and the utter disappointment it has all wrought?

As of now, I'm just happy forgetting about who is sitting where and who is saying what when it comes straight to policy. I wish everyone could take this approach, but it just wont happen. Personalities are only as important to me as their ability to keep a politician in office who may continue to pursue good policy.
