14. There is not enough people on DU to even make 1% of the Presidential vote
or the vote during the off years.
We do greatly exaggerate our importance around here.

9. It amasses me how some 'Democrats" can actually not support our party or our candidates.

People like you seem to relish the thought of losing and of having I told you so moments. And, actually, I am going to suggest that you will not get the opportunity to do either- our party will come out just fine later this year and in 2012.
And, a suggestion-if you can't support the team and can only criticize-perhaps you need to just leave.

12. the economy
None of the projected growth rates are going to bring unemployment down to the levels needed to ensure victory this Nov. If those numbers stay in double digits, or even above 8%, we will be in trouble. There are several respected economists warning that the economy could even take another downward turn as the stimulus moneys run out.

The two groups most responsible for Dem victories in 2008, minorities and the 18-25 demographic are also the two groups that historically don't show up in off year elections.

The above provided in case you were making a serious post, rather than the usual snotty bullshit that clogs up this forum.

15. It depends on what you call a disaster. How many seats lost is a disaster?
10? 20? 30? 40? We won't lose control of the House and will lost about 6 at most in the Senate. Congress already is a pain in the ass to pass things through. So what difference will it really make? If we lose in more conservative districts is that really a loss?
We need to rethink what politics really is all about these days. It is not party but beliefs.
