GREAT Dem opportunities for 2010
As the Republicans continue to embrace the Tea Partiers (The R' are in turmoil in Florida over the fight between moderates and Tea Partiers, and Steele has wholeheartedly endorsed the Tea Partiers); and as the economy continues to move forward; with healthcare, energy, and jobs bills coming; with strong financing (we are actually doing quite well in our contributions whereas the R's are struggling); with only 1 in 5 Americans identifying with the R party; and with plenty of retirements also on the R side, our chances for 2010 are actually pretty good. People just need to get out and vote. *** The hard right turn on the Republican side should certainly help to motivate the base. Tea Partiers will be out in force. Palin and the right wing echo chamberers will be out in force for that side, WAY over on the hard right, bashing Obama and Dems. Does our base really want to risk an election result with a "Speaker Boehner" and "Majorty Leader McConnell"? Most of these races will come down to local/state dynamics, but of course the R's are going to be nationalizing it and screeching "socialism terrorism debt socialism terrorism debt socialism terrorism debt socialism terrorism debt..." from now to November. But, there is PLENTY for our side to work with and PLENTY of reason to be very optimistic.

Our narrative should come down to this: We are the party of progress and the future, working to deliver on cleaning up the mess left by 8 long dark years of Republican rule. They are the party of Beck, Rush, Coulter, Palin, and ultra right wing Tea Partiers stuck like cement in the past and can only say "NO" to ANY effort to move the country in a better direction. America, do you want to go forward or backward? Do you want to continue some progress or return to the dark Bush/Cheney/Tea Partier ways of doing the nation's business?

**We must take the fight straight to the R's. We must, as always, go on OFFENSE, and THEY are going to give us PLENTY of ammunition. We just need to use it.

1. Might have worked- if the evidence ostensibly showed the narrative to be true
and if it was backed up by a modicum of fight.
