Stop the Stupid, I Want to Get Off

by BooMan
Thu Jan 7th, 2010 at 01:02:13 PM EST

Sometimes our discourse is so stupid that it takes the energy right out of me. I can't take another minute of debate over how many days it took Bush or Obama to respond to a Christmas time failed attack on an airplane. Bush attacked the wrong country for made-up reasons and got over 4,000 of our soldiers killed in the process. It takes a tremendous amount of gall (a vat of gall, really) to criticize the president for his response to terrorism when you have the record on that issue that Republicans have.

The gall of the Republicans is legendary.

When all you're left with as a party is whining and lying - no policy at all - the only thing left when the lying stops working is violence.

I have come to say stupid republican as much as is say stupid people, and trust me I say that almost as much as I say stupid me. :sarcasm:

Honestly I am sick of all the petty things that has been coming from the right for these last twelve years. To hell with the non-silent majority! The only thing they could do to get me to stop disliking them as much as I do is to shut up for a change. Considering that I was raised a republican and remained one for part of my adult life, this just shows what a stupid acting political party can do to cause people with any intelligence to not only turn their back on them but also make the person ashamed to ever admit they ever was one of them. :puke:

17. I don't think it's stupidity...
At least not at the top.
OK, there's plenty of stupidity at the bottom.
On both "sides".
That's what those at the top are counting on.
It's all distraction.
Distraction from the fact that we are all being ripped off and royally screwed.
If they didn't purposely and cleverly bombard us with "stupidity," then we would get mad and actually do something rather than blather on about how stupid Republicans are.

It's not stupidity at all...

And EXACTLY to distract us from the reality you've pointed to being ignored ...

Bush attacked the wrong country for made-up reasons and got over 4,000 of our soldiers killed in the process.

And the many other issues which are being distorted while sane, reasonable, logical solutions

and comments are ignored.

Shocking that anyone would believe any part of it -- !!

Second -- "Mad at Republicans"?
I'm naturally angry with anyone who is protecting or moving a "false flag" fake on America.
Whether this particular one or 9/11 -- or any other one!
Anyone warmongering - - whether Repug or Dem.

And, btw, I have no problems with Wayne Madsen . . .

Nor with any CIA or MOSSAD role in either or all of these "false flag" events --
including 9/11 --

major Christmas gifts for the neocons and militarists who still call the shots on U.S. policy

and agree with the long list of right wing incentives/rewards.

Other than that, I quickly scanned most of the info you passed on --

What we need is more Americans waking up to this treason by the right wing --
including the our treacherous, treasonous CIA -- and the many intelligence agencies above it!

:)

And Happy New Year -- we hope!

And thanks for trying to wake people up to all of this stuff --

30. Our assessment of this administration should be based ...
... on a higher standard than just that "Bush did this, but Obama did a bit better."

Our expectations for the Obama administration should be based on the rule of law, a review and restoration of our Constitutional rights which Obama promised and is not exactly delivering, and an assumption that if not Mr. Obama himself, someone (someone competent) in his administration is on the job every minute of every day.

Mr. Obama inherited the greatest burden any President has had to handle since Roosevelt took office. That he has not swept away eight years of tyranny in only one is not at all surprising. But demonstrating that he's on duty and aware of a serious threat is important. Bush was roundly (and justifiably) criticized for so frequently being "on vacation."

Obama's finally stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility, and pointing to the many problems in intelligence gathering and sharing, gives him high marks for acting "Presidential." But memories of Oklahoma City and 9/11 are strong in the citizenry, and an immediate reassuring response would have been wise, I think. I am remembering the fact that everyone, especially the high command, was essentially asleep when Pearl Harbor happened. With all these tragic events in our past, We, the People have a right to expect that the watchman is awake and aware.

32. Exactly, I have gotten to the point that..
I have stopped watching the television I can't watch anything but Keith and Rachel. THe rest is all bullshit, none of the right questions are asked and they are letting the rightwing lie directly to the public and they aren't checking them at all.

Someone can't state a undisputable fact and the right will just keep on lying because they don't give a damn everything is about money for them. I hope they will be destroyed right along with there damned money. Its all about how they can sell the next damn book.

Scarbo and his crew are trying to pretend that they are middle america as they run all over the country selling their damn lies. Yesterday,I turned on the tv and the first thing I heard Scar say is that we are trying to portray the right as evil or racist when they prove it to us everyday...

I refuse to listen to the stupidity anymore while the media and the weak assed Dems let them get away with it none of these pundits seem to ever follow up but as soon as something happens they want to pound us with this bullshit day after day...

They wouldn't give a damn if they didn't fly on planes and what they don't seem to get is they never were protected. There are so many ways to attack this country and we don't even know who is here already so they need to stop it with the fake outrage already,.I ain't buying it...

38. Right -- turning off the TV except for selected programs is the answer ...
Granted the right wing will finance and keep these right wing anchors and propaganda

going even when no one tunes in -- but at least it's more expensive for them that way

because sponsors won't stay without viewers!

We have all tried very actively for decades to protest the right wing programming which

steadily increased over and again --

Pat Buchanan, according to Jim Marrs, was financed by the CIA which takes money from

any right wingers . . . including the KKK!

That's how and why this right wing programming goes on --

Basically they cannot afford to have any truth oppose their myths --

These myths are like mirrors -- one pebble of truth will shatter them!

And that's my advice to anyone else wondering about TV -- put the TV in the closet --

I can't imagine let any kids watch TV at all these days! Watch C-span, Rachel, Keith,

Jon Stewart, though he's rather lackluster these days . . . ??? Am I wrong??

Schultz if you can stand him on TV -- his radio show is better --

and the the occasional old movie with no commercials when C-span gets boring!

TURN IT OFF FOLKS . . . STOP DOING CORPORTATE ADVERTISERS AND RIGHT WING PROGRAMMING

A FAVOR BY TUNING IN!!

:)

Happy New Year . . . we hope!!

What I find interesting and ironic about the whole ball burning bomber fiasco is how the right wing has used the situation to lay out a virtual mirror to the kind of criticism leveled at Bozo, the boy king and used it as a fundraiser to boot.

43. I completely agree, I have a minor nitpick: why do people only list US casualties?
First off, there have been low ball park estimates of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians killed in this war of our choice. Civilians which did nothing to us. And which in the context of belonging to a population of 30 million people, it really is a significant percentage. In the big scheme of things, 4000 people out of a population of 300+ million is nowhere near as significant, in fact you need a few decimal places to capture them. Also those killed were not innocent civilians but service men and women... their deaths are not excused, but there is even less of an excuse for the civilian casualties of a war of OUR choice.

Sometimes I somewhat get the impression that the war would have been A-OK if there had only been a couple of US casualties all this time...

In any case, this whole BS reeks of the right trying to white wash Bush's reign of hubris and incompetence.
